Based in Shrewsbury in Shropshire, WH Gittins & Sons is a family partnership who own Wykey Farm, 2350 acres of mixed cropping that consists of wheat, oil seed rape, maize, beet, hybrid rye, potatoes and lucerne.
To help reduce emissions on the farm, in 2012 WH Gittins & Sons built a 1.8MW Anaerobic Digestion plant. Crops from around 20% of the farms land, along with manure and by-products from local dairy farms are used as feedstock for the digestor.
WH Gittins & Sons, first approached TradeLink Solutions in 2012, to assist them with submitting to Ofgem, and managing, their ROO-FIT accreditation application. Once the application had been approved, TradeLink provided WH Gittins & Sons with further services in the form of data submissions to Ofgem and PPA brokerage. Through TradeLink Solutionss strong relationship with suppliers and in-depth knowledge of the market, we were able to find the best price and contract structure to suit the site.
